New quiz promises to help communications leaders prioritise their time

Confused about the best exercise regime for someone of your fitness level? There’s a quiz for that. Curious about what colours you should be wearing? There’s a quiz for that. Want to find your perfect love match? There’s a quiz for that.

It seems that there are quizzes for almost every aspect of your personal life. But whilst we spend more of our waking hours at work than we do exercising, choosing outfits or with our partners – there has never been a quiz to help you to work out where to improve your performance as a communications professional.

Until now.

Former Government Director of Communications and founder of Moxy Communications, Suzanne Edmond, has launched the ‘Test Your Moxy’ quiz to bring a light-hearted approach to a serious purpose: helping Directors of Communications to work out where they need to prioritise their time to fulfil their – and their teams’ – potential.

Suzanne explains:

“Comms professionals are frequently asked to complete surveys and share their insights to help and inform others. From annual salary surveys to forecasters looking to spot trends, these demands are just another item on the seemingly endless ‘To do’ list! As far as I know, there’s never been a quiz like the moxy quiz: one that aims to help you to prioritise that list!”

The new quiz is based on Suzanne’s personal experience of stepping up into a senior communications role:

“When I was in-house, I felt as though the weight of the world was coming down onto my shoulders and I was responsible for carrying it alone.

“And now I hear from my clients how they struggle with overwhelm, feeling overstretched and unsure of where to focus their attention. That struggle dominates their weekdays and, too often, their weekends as well. I wanted to create something that would help.

“Everything we do at Moxy is based on a commitment to ‘think differently’, so I decided to use a fun approach – reminiscent of those famous lifestyle quizzes – to provide serious insights and a moment of easy-going relief in the midst of a busy day.”

Those who take the quiz get a personalised report outlining where they are ‘smashing it’ and where they could benefit from being even more brave, bold, and brilliant. The Moxy quiz has already been completed by a range of senior communications leaders.

Edmond added:

“So far, the results suggest that an uninspiring strategy, pressurised teams, a lack of crisis preparedness and insufficient support are the primary reasons why comms professionals struggle. My hope is that this quiz will help people to get clear on what’s undermining their success, what’s important to focus on, and give them some ideas to get started.”
